The hotel is very well situated in the middle of the city. The room was spacious - and the interior decoration is very tasteful. The breakfast is fantastic - great selection of fruits and vegetables, besides the usual selection of cereals and bread.

Lovely comfortable hotel with very friendly helpful staff. Excellent restaurant. Great breakfast. Most of all loved the rooftop hot tub and sauna - great to ease any skiing pains, with a great view from the hot tub. Location was just perfect, so convenient. Rooms are well soundproofed from any noise at night

This hotel is in a perfect location near all the bars and restaurants but not too noisy. The bus from Salzburg airport stops right outside. The City Express gondola is a very short walk from hotel. The breakfast is simple but plenty of it and evening meals were lovely. They catered for vegetarian on request. There is a lovely outdoor bar with heaters. The rooftop hot tub is a real luxury and everything was clean and well maintained. Julia was really helpful with our enquiry for next year. We have booked to go back!

Fabulous, stylish traditional Austrian food.
We went here in our last night in Salzburg and so glad we did. Of all the Austrian food we have eaten so far this restaurant serves it in the most traditional and stylish way. From the friendly staff dressed in Austrian traditional clothes to the large menu of specialities. It was just fabulous. We had Wiener schnitzel, ziebel braten, Austrian tagliata beef cubes, lamb leg. Don’t forget their too die for dessert especially the Salzburger knockel. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Had a great two nights
I had a nice two nights stay and I was pleasantly surprised by my room. It suited my needs perfectly and the staff were all great. Kind and helpful with every question I had during my stay. The breakfast was super and I also had dinner in the restaurant one might and it was also super. The staff, the food, the price. If I return to Zell am See I will definitely stay here again.

Al fresco family dinner
We - a family of three - enjoyed an al fresco dinner here. Some of us had traditional Austrian dishes that were tasteful and filling. I had vegetarian dishes that were really tasteful as well. The service was good, polite and swift. We can recommend having dinner here.
Well Maintained Hotel with Helpful and Knowledgeable Staff
The hotel staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They made our stay in Zell am See much more enjoyable with all the information that they provided and the suggestions for activities and transportation, Julia, in particular, was an expert on the Zell am See area. Breakfast, in common area, and the attached restaurant for dinner are both excellent. The room was spacious and clean. The room was slightly worn but was an excellent value.

A nice mix of traditional and modern. Very friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Right in the town centre. Ideally placed for restaurants, shops inc hire shops, the Lake, ski lift and bus station.

Sehr schöne Lage im Zentrum und und nur ein paar Gassen weiter zum See bzw in die Fußgängerzone zu den Geschäften und Restaurants bzw. Bars. Sehr freundliches hilfsbereites Personal. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig. Wir hatten noch nie ein so großes Zimmer.

Zentrales Hotel mit schönem Ambiente
Das Frühstück ist ausreichend. Es gibt ein kleines Buffet und auf Wunsch bekommt man auch Rührei, Spiegelei oder ein gekochtes Ei. Dies bezieht sich auch auf die verschiedenen Kaffeevariationen. Das Zimmer ist gut ausgestattet und das Badezimmer hat eine Schiebetür, die die Räume voneinander trennt. Im oberen Stockwerk gibt es auch einen Außenwhirlpool und eine Sauna zur Mitbenutzung. Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral und hat sogar ein paar nahegelegene kostenlose Parkplätze (nach Verfügbarkeit).

Die Rezeptionistin war sehr bemüht, unsere Anliegen zur Zufriedenheit zu bringen. Sehr freundlich suchte sie sofort Lösungen. Die Nachtruhe war stark gestört durch den Straßenverkehr. Leider war auch das Restaurant am Montag geschlossen.

It is like the style of a hut than a regular hotel but the room is nice and cosy , loved how close it is to the train station literally 5 or less than 5 mins walk and its price compared that it is including breakfast (which isn’t this wow ) but is very good for price and the lady at the reception was very nice and very welcoming and explained to me about the attractions and places to visit around , all in all was a very good experience loved it.

Excellent stay
Really good hotel. Very comfortable bed, excellent linen and towels. Was worried as on a busy main road but when we closed the windows you could hear nothing at all. Ate in the hotels two nights, the residents restaurant room was being updated so we were in a small room off the bar in which there were only 3 tables. It was very cosy and unique. The food was delicious, we had goulash with dumpling, Jagerpfanne the first night, then the Asian bowl the second night. Our waitress was very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good too, with the choice of omelette, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs cooked freshly for you. Coffee very good too. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel, it was very central with private parking just up the road from the hotel!
Perfect ski hotel
The location of Hotel Steinerwirt is perfect if you want to be reasonably close to the skiing but also right within the town for restaurants and bars. Easy walk from the train station. Great spa area with sauna and hot tub (make sure you ask them to keep it closed so it's hot!). Friendly staff who were happy to help with requests like robes and keeping our milk in their fridge. Plentiful breakfast, with a variety of buffet items, plus you can choose how oyu'd like your eggs and coffee each morning. We ate in the restaurant once (à la carte) and the food was AMAZING - definitely try the goulash!

Für mich waren es 3 sehr schöne Tage in Zell am See und ein angenehmer Aufenthalt im Steinerwirt
Das Hotel liegt direkt im Zentrum von Zell am See. Somit sind alle wesentlichen Einrichtungen schnell zu erreichen. Leider hat die Zeit nicht gereicht um direkt im angeschlossenen Lokal zu Essen (Montag ist Ruhetag) aber dafür gibt es im Umfeld ausreichend Alternativen. Zum Bahnhof oder zum See sind es nur wenige Gehminuten. Die Damen an der Rezeption waren freundlich und hilfsbereit ... das Frühstücksbuffet war ausreichend für jeden Geschmack (süß, herzhaft, Gemüse, Obst, Jogurth + Toppings usw.). Getränke wie Säfte und Kaffee sowie warme Speisen (z.B. Rührei) wird vom Service erfragt und extra gebracht. Für meine Zecke bin ich mit meiner Wahl der Unterkunft absolut zufrieden ... im Vergleich zu den restlichen Unterkünften in der Umgebung ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

It was a pleasure to spend a memorable ski holiday here. The room was cosy and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast omelette and coffee were great. I enjoyed breakfast every day and then walked a few minutes to the bus stop to Kitzsteinhorn to start a lovely day's skiing!

Great dining in the Austrian Alps
The best restaurant in Zell Am See. Menu has choice of (mainly) traditional Austrian and international dishes. Food and service both top quality. Also an excellent wine list. We make a point of visiting every time we go there (annually!). Not a cheap destination but you get what you pay for in atmospheric surroundings. Desserts are superb. Thoroughly recommended.

Great and cozy place. The room was very warm with a nice view. The Jacuzzi on the roof has a great view around. Great area for relax along with sauna. Excellent location - close to the train station, the lake, the ski lift and the bus stop to Saalbach-Hinterglemm. The staff is very helpful. In the evening when I was leaving I didn’t get to the ski rentals in time to give back the ski equipment. The girl on the reception offered me to give it back the next morning for me. They also offered me to use the sauna area to relax after a day of skiing even though I checked out by the time already.
Positives and negatives- fair price
Roof top jacuzzi and sauna are both amazing. Excellent breakfast too! In general hotel is very good for these 2 reasons, price, and location is great- right in the middle of town, close to all amenities like buses, shops, restaurants, cable car.

Solche Kellner wünscht man sich
Wir hatten eine Busfahrt nach Zell am See und haben dort außerdem Weihnachtsmarkt am See Beim Steinerwirt am 24.12.2023 zu Mittag gegessen. ganz super netter Kellner Herr Chen, er war sehr zuorkommend und es hat alles gut geklappt. Wir hatten nur 2 Stunden da unser Bus weiterfuhr. Super präzise Erklärung des Essen, alle Wünsche erfüllt. Wir möchten ihm hiermit unserem Dank aussprechen und werden im Sommer wenn wir direkt in Zell am See Urlaub machen auf jeden Fall wieder bei ihm einkehren. Danke

The location is very good. It's closed to both the ski line and the city center. And the staff in the receiption of the hotel is very nice and helpful. The breakfast is good as well. I like bacon&egg especially.

Kann man empfehlen
Sehr Zentral, nicht weit vom Dorfplatz und zum See sind es 3 Minuten. Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut, 2 verschiedene Brote, 4 oder 5 verschiedene Semmeln, Marmelade, Käse,Schinken, Müsli, mehr braucht man ja eh nicht um frisch zu werden. Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit !! Schlafzimmer war sehr groß und frei, war toll. Zimmer 205.

Empfehlenswert für einen Aufenthalt in Zell am See
Die Zimmer beim Steinerwirt sind nicht nur sehr sauber, sondern auch geräumig und man kann sich da wohlfühlen. Frühstück lässt auch keine Wünsche übrig, man wird gefragt ob und wie man Eier möchte. Die Lage ist sowieso optimal, nur ein paar Meter und man ist am Zeller See. Zudem gibt es gegenüber eine Parkgarage, die man durch das Hotel verbilligt bekommt.

Sehr zentrale Lage, gratis PP (nach Verfügbarkeit) freundliches Personal, gutes Essen, Wir durften unseren kleinen Hund zum Essen mitbringen. Trotz der Lage an der Strasse war es in der Nacht ruhig. Es hätte sogar einen Whirlpool auf dem Dach gegeben. Gästekarte war inklusive.

We hebben alleen de Kaiserschmarren gedeeld en dat was de beste die we ooit gegeten hebben. We hebben lang gezocht en hij was haast nergens te krijgen. Misschien wel in de winter. We hebben de marilen erbij genomen in plaats van appelmoes. Heerlijk! Zoek niet verder als je goede Kaiserschmarren wilt eten. Hier is het!
